Terrorism Threat Levels

The current terrorism threat to the UK from international terrorism is assessed as severe.

At Specialist Security, in response to recent events in France, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Nigeria, Thailand, Kenya and the US. We wanted to reinforce the key messages of the Government’s ‘Prevent Strategy’.

Prevent Strategy is part of HM Government’s counter-terrorism strategy.  We have reinforced the key messages of the Prevent Strategy and emphasised the importance of vigilance and reporting any concerns to the anti-terrorism hotline.

All of our employees hold a current SIA licence and qualifications, which include counter-terrorism awareness, which covers looking out for hostile reconnaissance.

We briefed our security operatives that if they see or hear anything that could be terrorist-related such as unattended packages, a person showing signs or erratic behaviour, people wearing abnormally bulky clothing that may be used to conceal objects or devices, anyone tampering with CCTV or taking an unusual interest in CCTV or suspicious chemical smells or pungent odours to trust their instincts and call the anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789321.
